Research Director (Europe-based)

Climate Strategies is an international organisation that convenes networks of leading academic experts around specific climate change policy challenges. From this it offers rigorous, independent research to governments and the full range of stakeholders, in Europe and beyond. It is Climate Strategies’ core mission to deliver cutting-edge research to address the collective-action problem of climate change and which has influence on the policy agenda. This is a mission in which they have enjoyed considerable success since the organisation’s formal incorporation in 2006. Climate Strategies’ research programme has to date published 75 reports, from 19 projects, in collaborations with over 50 research institutions and more than 90 researchers. While their work retains a consistently strong European focus, Climate Strategies seeks to make impact in other parts of the world as well and has a genuinely global reach.

The Climate Strategies Board has authorised the recruitment of a Research Director for the organisation. To meet expansion ambitions - in terms of research programme, geographical outreach and network – Climate Strategies have determined a need for a full-time Director, based in Europe, with the intention of installing someone by the summer. The incumbent will need to travel to Cambridge and the UK regularly, so must be based in Europe.
