CDM Watch, an ECF grantee, seeks two full-time professionals to join their organization.

Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects were an important agreement in the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, allowing industrialized nations to invest in emission reduction activities in developing countries rather than investing to reduce their own emissions. This is useful, as CDM projects may be cheaper and more effective than similar projects in already developed regions. However, project oversight can be thin. This is where CDM Watch plays a critical role.

CDM Watch, based in Brussels, is an independent perspective on CDMs. The organization monitors work and flags sub-standard or ineligible activities, advising potential collaborators which projects are the most effective and beneficial. By becoming a central CDM hub, they can give information and guidance not only to stakeholders but also decision makers and the general public. In this way CDM Watch engages the policy framework to create a better mechanism.

As a grantee, the ECF whole-heartedly supports CDM Watch in their search for candidates to expand the group’s operational capacity. Anyone interested is encouraged to contact CDM Watch directly to inquire about the application process. The original employment advertisements are below.
