"Towards a global climate agreement: insights from Project Catalyst"

The European Climate Foundation (ECF) would like to thank the UNFCCC webcast team and everyone else involved in the support and creation of the ECF’s new on-demand UNFCCC SB 30 side event webcast. The SB 30 is a June 2009 gathering of over 180 countries’ negotiators working towards a new climate agreement in Bonn, Germany. It is also attended by observers from academia, business, environmental and development NGOs, trade unions and many other stakeholders in the climate policy process – over 3000 persons in all. The meeting is an important lead-up to the COP 15 meeting in Copenhagen, a conference anticipated to finalize the ambitious global climate protection deal to follow-up the well known Kyoto Protocol.

The ECF’s event, presented on June 6, is entitled “Towards a global climate agreement: insights from Project Catalyst," and provided participants with a rigourous analysis of climate economics featuring prominent climate scientists. Topics included low-carbon growth and development, finance requirements, and funding sources and mechanisms required to make a global deal reality.
